Corrosion resistance of hard aluminum 2024 and super hard aluminum 7075

        Hard aluminum 2024 is a time-strengthened aluminum alloy with poor corrosion resistance. Its main features are its strength and heat resistance, which can be used at higher temperatures.

        Hard aluminum 2024 is mainly composed of AL-CU-MG-MN alloy, and can be classified into AL-CU-MG system and AL-CU-MN series according to the degree of alloying, mechanical properties and process performance. Copper and magnesium are added to the alloy to form an equal strengthening phase in addition to the solid solution strengthening effect. The addition of manganese is mainly to improve the corrosion of aluminum alloy, and also has a certain solid solution effect.

        Superhard aluminum 7075 has higher strength and hardness than hard aluminum, can be heat-treated and strengthened, and has a strength of 600-700MPA. It is the highest strength type of deformed aluminum alloy, but has poor fatigue resistance, sensitivity to stress concentration, and obvious stress corrosion. The tendency to break, the heat resistance is also lower than that of hard aluminum 2024.

       The super-hard aluminum alloy 7075 aluminum belongs to the AL-ZN-MG-CU alloy, which improves the ZN content on the hard aluminum. When the content of zn and mg in the alloy is 5.5%, the tensile strength can reach 300 MPa, and it has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking and welding. When the zn and magnesium content reaches 6%-75 shi, a small amount of zr\mn, cr is added, and the alloy has good stress resistance, corrosion resistance and welding performance; if a small amount of cu is added and a suitable quenching machine is used for aging,  significantly improves its resistance to urban fracture properties, but if the alloy contains zn and mg content of more than 7%-8%, the strength of the alloy can reach 500PA, and the weldability and stress corrosion resistance of the alloy change. The ability to join the network significantly improves the strength, plasticity and stress corrosion cracking of the alloy; the addition of copper also increases its strength against stress corrosion.
