The total shipments of aluminum extrusion products (squeeze tubes/sticks) in the United States and Canada in November 2015 were 407.9 million pounds, an increase of 4.4% compared to 390.9 million pounds in the same period in 2014. Shipments in October were 453.7 million pounds, a decrease of 10.1%. From the beginning of the year to November, the total shipment volume was 478.82 million tons, an increase of 5.1% compared with the same period in 2014.
It is estimated that the total demand for aluminum in the United States and Canada in October 2015 was 21.741 billion pounds, an increase of 1.0% compared with the same period in 2014. The total demand for semi-finished products was 15.533 billion pounds, an increase of 4.7%. The total surface consumption in the domestic market was 19.309 billion pounds, an increase of 4.7%.
In November, US and Canada's pure aluminum product shipments (including exports) were 1.882 billion pounds, an increase of 2.5% compared to the 1.936 billion pounds in November 2014. The shipment of aluminum products increased by 1.2% to 1.22 billion pounds. In addition, aluminum ingots for casting, export and passive use increased by 5.1% year-on-year to a total of 661 million pounds.
